Creation of an interpretive plan is the all-important first step in the development of an exhibit or the entirety of a museum. The process begins with a workshop session at which time we will help your group identify target audiences, desired audience experiences, and make record of objects and artifacts available for exhibition. The workshop provides a forum for stakeholders to collectively express their thoughts and expectations for the museum and leads to a unified vision. The completed proposal, which shows a clear course of action and includes beautiful schematic drawings, will also be helpful in obtaining underwriting that will help fund the actual execution of your museum.
EXHIBIT DESIGN & FABRICATION
We transform interpretive themes into imaginative exhibits that engage the mind and promote new ways of thinking. The recipients of multiple National Association of Interpretation awards, we are highly experienced in all types of exhibit design and fabrication, including outdoor waysides, three-dimensional mixed media interior exhibits, tactile displays, video presentations, and touchscreen displays, and are highly knowledgeable of national standards for accessibility. We have long-standing relationships with museum designers and exhibit fabricators whose work can be found in some of America’s most renowned parks, museums and historic sites.
COPYWRITING & EDITORIAL
Scott’s post-college work as a reporter prepared him to be able to take on assignments related to all types of subject matter. His interpretive writing has transported readers to the 18th century Dutch colonies of St. Croix, to the WWI Battle of the Argonne Forest, to the American civil rights protests of the 1960s, and the muddy concert fields of Woodstock. In addition to interpretive work, he is accomplished in writing editorial for mass media and social media. Since 2014, Scott has authored, “Talking History,” a monthly column in Frederick Magazine. The popular Q&A column features an interview with an authority on historical subject matter.
